Places Covered: Leh, Monasteries, Sham Valley, Tsomoriri, Nubra & Pangong Lake

Day 01: Arrive Leh

Arrive at Leh by morning flight and transfer to the hotel. After welcome drink take a complete rest for acclimatization to the height altitude of Leh (3500 mtrs). In the late afternoon drive to the city for an orientation walk in the markets‚ followed by a visit to Shanti Stupa‚ Leh palace. .Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 02: Leh To Sham Valley (75 Kms / 4 Hrs)

After  breakfast at hotel, drive to Uleytokpo on the way you will visit, the Hall of fame and gurudwara pather sahib, “the temple of Guardians” in spituk monasteries and later on visit 11th century, the Alchi Choskor, the oldest surviving monastic complex of the region and famous for its painting and architecture. Dinner and overnight at Uley camp.

Day 03: Sham Valley To Leh Via Lamayuru (180 Kms / 05 – 06 Hrs)

After breakfast at camp, drive to the 11th Century Lamayuru Monastery reroute visiting the mesmerizing Moon Landscapes (you will believe why the name of this area is Moon land. Exactly the same formations of Land are visible as on the moon), Lamayuru is spectacularly located along the valley plain and surrounded by mountains on all sides.

While return to Leh, will first visit the Alchi Gompa. Which is the complex of temples located in the village is the most celebrated of Ladakh’s monasteries and dates back to the 11th century. After visit Alchi drive back to Leh. Overnight stay at your Hotel.

Day 04: Leh – Chumathang – Tsomoriri (240 Kms / 06 – 07 Hrs)

In the morning leave for Tsomoriri Lake. Tsomoriri lake is famous for its bird wildlife. Enroute will Chumathang which is famous for its hot water springs. From here a short drive will take you to Mahey bridge, the main checking point to enter to this new area. On the way visit Sumdah village and another 55 kms drive will take you to Tsomoriri. The Tsomoriri Lake is located at 14,000 ft. near a small village of Korzok. Upon arrival we check in at our camp and later we will visit Korzok monastery. Late back and overnight stay in camp / hotel.

Day 05: Tsomoriri – Tsokar – Tanglangla – Leh (240 Kms / 8 Hrs)

After the early breakfast, check out from our camp/hotel,  we drive to Tsokar (one of the hidden lake of Ladakh region) The nomadic people Changpas are most outstanding feature of this area. One can see Kiangs (wild asses) in this part of Tibetan plateau. The Drive is scenic and Tsokar lake is one of the best. After spending some time we proceed further to Leh. Dinner & Overnight at Hotel in Leh.

Day 06: Leh–Nubra Valley Via Khardung La 18,390 ft. (120 kms / 4 – 5 hrs)

After early breakfast AT HOTEL,  leave  for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong – la pass (alt: 18,380 ft. – highest motorable road in the world). After descending in the valley, drive on to Hunder and check into fixed camp. Post lunch, you can enjoy the ride of double hump Camel on Hunder sand dune. Dinner and overnight in the camp.

Day 07: Nubra Valley – Leh (120 kms / 4 – 5 hrs)

In the morning drive to Deskit (Headquarters of Nubra) and visit Deskit Monastery.  Later, drive back to Leh, in the afternoon will arrive in Leh. Rest of the day to explore the markets.

Dinner and overnight in Hotel.

Day 08: Leh To Pangong Lake (140 Kms / 4 – 5 Hrs – One Way)

Breakfast at hotel, leave to Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 metre. While ascending Changla pass 5486 metre. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the villages below the pass. After crossing the pass halt for picnic lunch at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the yaks. Arrive Durbuk and from there a short drive takes you to the western shore of the lake. Enjoy the landscape in the back drop of the Lake. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 144 Kms long with half of it’s running the other side of the “INDO CHINA BORDER”. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable. Dinner and overnight at Camp.

Day 09: Pangong Lake To Leh (140 Kms / 6 Hrs)

Leave Pangong Lake after breakfast and retrace the road to Leh across the Changla Pass. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit Hemis Monastery, the biggest and most famous monastery of Ladakh, and then return to the highway for onward journey to Leh. Dinner and overnight at Hotel

Day 10: Depart Leh

After breakfast, check out from the hotel, transfer to airport for your flight back home.
